Environment and Climate Regional Accession Network (ECRAN)

Human Dynamics led a consortium of specialists to assist the European Commission in providing Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Regional Accession Network (ECRAN). Financed by the EU and managed by the European Commission, ECRAN assisted beneficiaries in the exchange of information and experience related to preparation for accession. Thereby, ECRAN works to strengthen regional cooperation between the EU candidate countries. With our team working with potential candidates in the fields of environment and climate action. Assisting their progress in the transposition and implementation of the EU environmental and climate acquis as a key precondition for accession.

ECRAN involves complex coordination and covers a large range of environmental concerns and provides highly detailed, specialised and technical expert assistance for legislative approximation. It includes elements focused on the environment, climate action, as well as ensuring the involvement and active participation of NGOs.

ECRAN is involved in the preparation for climate change negotiations at COP21 (30 Nov–11 Dec 2015, Paris) — and the 2015 International Climate Agreement focused on carbon budgets and de-carbonisation policy across sectors. ECRAN has assisted the submission of INDCs to the  UNFCCC Secretariat, and it has developed INDCs fully for Albania and Montenegro.
