The Human Dynamics team with the Support Programme for Infrastructure Sector Strategies and Alternative Financing (SISSAF) have visited six schools in Lebanon to spread the message about the benefits of saving energy.
The presentation are part of the communication and visibility strategy “Energy, Lets Save it!” that Human Dynamics has developed. The strategy has included the delivery of a series of television commercials that have run on local Lebanese television and across social media.
The school presentations have been Saab andy Human Dynamic’s Renewable Energy Expert Petra Georges Saab and Communication Expert Rima Ataya, who drew on their specialist knowledge to share the benefits of saving energy for the community.
Student interaction has been very high in each of the sessions. With each student encouraged to share a tip on energy saving and to participate in the classroom.
At the end of each of presentation, students receive a DVD that includes a cartoon “Energy, Let’s Save It”, tips on energy saving and a series of printable activity books. These tools drive further engagement beyond the classroom.
The students were also encouraged to enter a colouring competition, which has been organised with Concours Fabriano de Dessin. The competition closes on 30 May, with a winner awarded on 5 June.
The SISSAF project is an ambitious effort to tackle some critical aspects of the infrastructure situation in Lebanon, which are directly linked to the economic, environmental and social stability of the country.
Human Dynamics Project Director Jakob Zeidler said, “Sharing the message of energy saving in schools is an important part of our communication strategy. Our team are working to ensure the impact of this project across all segments of society and achieve the outcomes of this important project”.
