Following the successful completion of the project activities under the EU-funded and HD-led project Law Enforcement in the Field of Industrial Pollution Control, Prevention of Chemical Accidents and Establishing the EMAS System (IPPC project), implemented in Serbia since September 2012, the project team have been awarded with the addendum to the contract covering the period July 2014 – September 2015.
The activities planned with the addendum will be focused on the development of Directive Specific Implementation Plan (DSIP) for the Industrial Emissions Directive (Directive 2010/75/EU).
Additional activities will build on the results achieved by the project in the initial phase of implementation, namely:
The Directive Specific Implementation Plan will include timetables and milestones, financing strategies and plans for securing public and private investments into infrastructure and technology required for full implementation of the Industrial Emissions Directive.
The finalised Directive Specific Implementation Plan will be used by the Serbian Government during the negotiation process with the EU to formulate negotiation position papers and to create conditions for obtaining transitional period once Serbia becomes an EU Member State.
