Human Dynamics has been engaged in FWC – Preparation of Mozambique Gender Profile: a EUR 140 000 project by EuropeAid to review and analyse the constraints and opportunities for empowerment and equality of women and girls in Mozambique.
Mozambique has an impressive women’s rights record, listed as third best in Africa in 2013 (22nd in the world) according to the World Economic Forum. Despite this, there remains room for improvement. Following the 2012 Human Development Report, the Mozambique government sought the technical assistance of an independent consultant to craft a roadmap forward on the agenda to advance empowerment and equality in the country. EuropeAid has named Human Dynamics as the best suited team to deliver this needed assistance.
As a first step, our team will undertake a comprehensive review and analysis of the situation on the ground. Based on the study results, the team will build an in-depth analysis, make practical and operational recommendations for the evaluation of the existing Gender Strategy, and identify actions to overcome the challenges to promoting gender equality.
The work will culminate in a Gender Profile report that includes operational methodology description and recommendations for priority areas and actions that could be developed through an action plan by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare. The emphasis will be on actions that our Experts believe can count on support from the European Union and other donor partners.
The team of two Key Experts will have 35 days to prepare the Profile report which will be delivered in January 2016.
