Human Dynamic's Short Term Expert honoured

Mr Michael Cunniff, a short-term Expert with the HD-led project Support to the Prosecutorial Council and Kosovo Judicial Council, was awarded a special certificate of appreciation in recognition of his achievements within the project. This unique award was given to Mr Cunniff by the Chairman of the Prosecutorial Council of Kosovo, Mr Blerim Isufaj, at the end of Mr Cunniff’s tenure with the project on 9 Feb 2015 in Pristina, Kosovo.

As part of HD's team, Mr Cunniff advised the Prosecutorial and Judicial Council on the implementation of their functions and obligations: including strategic planning, action planning, and monitoring and evaluation planning activities, as well as disciplinary and evaluation procedures regarding judges and prosecutors. In terms of background, Mr Cunniff has followed 27 years as a decorated American enforcement official with a successful career as an Attorney with a practice based in Maine, USA.

At the ceremony, Mr Blerim Isufaj spoke of the positive impact that the HD-led project has had on Kosovo's Prosecutorial Council. 

“The Project, over the years, has gained the trust of the justice community and the EU Office in Kosovo. It is perceived as one of the most successful projects funded by the EU in the recent years. The entire team with its key experts Ms Anita Mihailova and Mr Plácido Conde Fernandes as well as a series of other experts have greatly contributed to push Kosovo forward and deserve indeed the accolades of our Kosovar beneficiaries and of the EU office in Kosovo. It is for the same reason that the Project was asked to organise a sizeable final conference in April: to celebrate the achievements and make the public aware of them."

The 54-month EUR 3 million justice project is currently planned to conclude in April 2016.
