Sectoral Policies

Through Resources Management and Human Development, the Sectoral Policies Department covers a wide range of topics.  This department supports clients such as Ministries of Transport and Energy as well as Ministries of Education and Social Security agencies to implement projects that address the specific needs of individual sectors.

Resources management is the efficient, effective deployment of resources to maximise their allocation and utilisation to achieve a set of objectives or goals. The starting point for the approach to resource management is generally comprised of two key aspects; the plan to balance the allocation of resources, and the mitigation strategy to manage the fluctuation in the availability of resources.

Human Development is concerned with the creation of an environment conducive to the achievement of an individual’s full potential, not only in financial terms, but on an individual and social level as well. Human Development polices allow for the possibility of individuals to lead productive, creative lives through the choices they make according to their needs, values and interests. From a public sector perspective, inherent in this are policies related to education, health and social development as well as poverty reduction.
