Rule of Law
We work with Ministries of Justice, Public Prosecutor's Offices, Judicial Training Institutions, judges and lawyers, court staff and other legislative bodies to review and amend organisational and technical systems and processes, build capacity through the design of tailor-made accredited curricula and ad hoc training programmes and improve public judicial services with a view to the reinforcement of administrative capacity, greater customer satisfaction and the integration of the principles of the rule of law.
Within the frame of Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) policies, we have carried out a number of projects building capacities for border management, police training and migration regulation.
Our activities aim at reinforcing the capacities of government to fully integrate Human Rights perspectives in the definition of policies and management of democratic and transparent public institutions. On the other side, we contribute to developing the capacities of civil society to getting involved in efficient policy dialogue with public institutions, develop activities at local level and increase awareness about basic rights protection
Our rule of law unit develops numerous projects in the fields of:
- Judicial Reform and Legal Training
- Home Affairs/ Border Management (Legislative Enforcement?)
- Human Rights Protection
- Civil Society Strengthening
