Monitoring the import and distribution of fertiliser and animal feed through State and emerging privatised channels, to encourage the development of normal free market orientated farm inputs trading in Serbia. Creation of counterpart fund to further develop the sector. The specific objectives of the project were:
• To make a quantity of fertilizers and feed for distribution and use during Autumn 2001 and Spring 2002 available to Serbian farmers at affordable prices, to address chronic soil fertility problems and to reverse livestock de-stocking on Serbian farms;
• To increase farm productivity and incomes immediately, thereby generating capacity to pay for the inputs provided;
• To make animal feed and fertilizers available through existing state and emerging privatised channels. with a view to encouraging the development of normal free market-orientated farm inputs trading in Serbia;
• To create a counterpart fund which will be used for further development of the sector.
