Technical assistance for the consolidation of the institutional capacity of the National School of Clerks

The project, which builds upon previous technical assistance projects to support the National School of Clerks, has been designed to support the efforts to enhance professional standards in court management and thus contribute to reform the judiciary in Romania. The overall project objective aims to improve the quality of the act of justice and access to justice.

The specific project objectives include:

  • Strengthening the institutional development of the National Schools of Clerks (NSC) so that it can carry out its training tasks for Romanian judiciary clerks;
  • Increasing public access to information from courts and prosecutor’s offices.

The envisaged results are as follows:

  • Improving clerks’ role in ensuring and guaranteeing access of the public to information from the judicial system;
  • Elaborating theoretical and practical guidelines for clerks working at courts and prosecutors offices;
  • Providing training for court and prosecutors office clerks in specialised fields, thereby ensuring transparency of legal decisions as well as unification of practice.
