The Project’s overall objective is to provide strategic and institutional support to the Turkmen authorities in general, and to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MoEF) and the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) in particular, to enable them to achieve the objectives of the country’s long-term development agenda.
The Project will concentrate on two core sectors: Public Finance Management and Agriculture contributing to better targeting, budgeting and funding of reforms ensuring sustainable economic growth along with social development and poverty alleviation.
In each of the two sectors targeted by the Project, special attention will be paid to policy planning and development as well as capacity building.
Specific objectives and results include:
• To assist Turkmenistan’s institutions (mainly the MoEF and MoA) in ensuring an effective and efficient management of the State’s natural, financial and human resources.
• To support the design and adoption of the legal framework needed to implement the economic reforms related to budget and agriculture development.
