Implementation of Twinning, TAIEX & SIGMA Operations in Azerbaijan (ITTSO)

The overall objective of the project is to support the capacity of Azerbaijan to make the best use of EU assistance and in particular of the Institutional Twinning, TAIEX and SIGMA instruments.
More specifically, the objectives of this project are aimed at:

• Increasing public awareness of EU assistance in the form of twinning projects, TAIEX events, and SIGMA assistance in the overall framework of the EU external assistance to Azerbaijan;
• Supporting the preparation and management of Twinning, TAIEX and SIGMA operations according to EC rules and procedures;
• Assisting the Azerbaijani Government (in particular individual line ministries and other public bodies) and stakeholders to understand and participate fully in the Twinning Programme, TAIEX events and SIGMA instrument;
• Supporting the Focal Points in the Ministries and Public Entities in their identification, planning, and co-ordination of twinning projects and TAIEX events;
• Following up and supporting the ongoing twinning projects;
• Supporting PAO in monitoring of Twinning projects, TAIEX events and SIGMA assistance;
• Contributing to the long-term sustainability of the PAO.
