In order to increase efficiency and effectiveness of assistance funded through the European Commission in Azerbaijan and to improve the visibility of this assistance, the European Commission established a Europa House in Azerbaijan providing field-based technical support. The specific project objectives were:
• Support planning and programming of Tacis/ENP programme (Country Strategy, Indicative Programmes, Action Programmes and Terms of Reference) and planning and programming of other EC-funded assistance for de-mining activities in Azerbaijan;
• Support implementation of Tacis/ENP programme and implementation of EC funded assistance for de-mining activities in Azerbaijan and implementation of EC-funded assistance activities in Azerbaijan;
• To further develop and implement an information strategy for EC assistance in Azerbaijan.
