Within the context of support to the fiscal decentralisation process in the Republic of Croatia, aiming at independent and accountable public administration, in line with EU standards and best practise in the EU Member States, the project’s specific objectives were:
• Enhanced overall legal and strategic framework for fiscal decentralisation;
• Improved capacity of the Ministry of Finance to support the Decentralisation Commission by proposing and implementing reforms of the system of finance local and regional governments and making recommendations for providing adequate financial resources to local and regional governments for additional tasks being devolved consistent with the Decentralisation Process.
