Technical Assistance for TRTA 3

The specific objective of TRTA3 is to enhance the capacity of selected government agencies and private sector organisations to facilitate further integration into the international and regional trading and investment system.

Through this project technical assistance will be provided to the Government of the Republic of the Philippines to achieve this specific objective, through 6 interlinked project components with the following results:

• strengthened capacity to successfully implement Philippines international trade strategy,
• enhanced capacity to effectively implement competition policy,
• strengthened capacity to develop and implement a national quality infrastructure strategy and to undertake market surveillance,
• enhanced capacities to develop and implement SPS management and control systems in-line with international standards and of producers' to comply with these standards,
• strengthened trade facilitation capacity to comply with the Revised Kyoto Convention and to upgrade national single window and warehousing operations,
• responsive reaction to unforeseen technical assistance needs and strengthened capacity of business associations.
