Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Federal Justice Organs Professionals Training Centre (JOPTC)

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the strengthening and development of the Federal Justice Organs Professionals Training Centre (JOPTC) so to ensure a high standard of justice is delivered to all citizens of Ethiopia. The purpose is to strengthen and enhance the capacity of the JOPTC to deliver legal and judicial pre and in-service training.

The project focuses on four components and achievement of the following results:

Component 1: JOPTC Institutional Capacity and Training Strategy
Sub-component A: JOPTC Impact Assessment and JOPTC Institutional Capacity Strengthening:
- Result 1: JOPTC activities Impact Assessment Report drafted
- Result 2: JOPTC institutional training capacity strengthened and enhanced
- Result 3: JOPTC Judicial Training Strategy taking into account donor coordination designed

Sub-component B: JOPTC training Strategy
- Result 4: JOPTC Judicial Training Strategy taking into account donor coordination designed.

Sub-component C: Design JOPTC Training Programmes and facilitate ICT implementation:
- Result 5: Training Programmes designed and ICT sustainability ensured

Sub-component D: Linkage with an international judicial institution
- Result 6: Assistance and coordination with the linkage with an international foreign justice institution established

Component 2: JOPTC Training Programme Management, Monitoring, Schedule and Implementation
- Result 7: Programme management policy, monitoring and evaluation tools for JOPTC training curricula activities developed
- Result 8: JOPTC Training Programmes Schedule designed and implemented
- Result 9: Programme management policy, monitoring and evaluation tools for JOPTC training curricula activities developed

Component 3: JOPTC Training Programme Estimate and Further Procurement
- Result 10: Start-up Programme Estimate implemented in accordance with applicable EDF procedures
- Result 11: First Programme Estimate drawn up and implemented in accordance with applicable EDF procedures
- Result 12: JOPTC assisted in the preparation of Service/Supply Tender Dossiers and Grant Calls for proposals
- Result 13: Assistance in the development of an Electronic library provided

Component 4: JOPTC Corporate identity and Media communications
- Result 14: JOPTC corporate identity strengthened; institutional and media communications improved
