Project Description:

The overall objective of this project is to contribute to the joint Africa–EU strategy (JAES) action plan (AP) implementation, producing concrete and visible results.

The purpose is to provide technical assistance for the implementation of the JAES support mechanism which has the specific objective of improved results-oriented coordination, coherence and visibility of JAES AP implementation. The JAES SM seeks to provide, on a flexible and demand-driven basis, the necessary targeted technical and administrative support to the implementing actors of the thematic partnerships, with the aim to make the working JAES arrangements more effective and efficient, and to facilitate the delivery of more concrete results.

The main expected results of the programme are:

  • improved technical expertise and functioning of JAES-related structures through improved technical expertise and other support;
  • improved framework for mobilisation of synergies between JAES thematic partnerships mobilised through acommon framework;
  • improved communication with and outreach to key JAES stakeholders;
  • information and tools to facilitate monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of roadmap implementation.

The JAES SM does not aim at financing core JAES activities but rather at facilitating its implementation.
