Teacher Training and Capacity Building of School Directors in Kosovo
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen and improve the quality of education through development of sustainable system of comprehensive teacher training, notably in-service teacher training, in primary and secondary education (both general education and VET) and to provide basic management training for School Directors in order to improve management capacities at school, local and municipality level.
The project has as a main focus support for continuous professional development of teachers (in-service teacher training) through provision of obligatory teacher training programs that operate within the framework of the new teacher licensing and credit system of Kosovo and in line with the new Kosovo Curriculum Framework (KCF). The project will also serve to build the capacity of local teacher training providers in Kosovo to enhance the quality of the teaching and learning system in Kosovo. It will serve to bridge the gap between pre-service and in-service teacher training and must also cover teacher training provision of minority communities as well as for special needs education. The project will also improve the capacity of school directors as well as of educational authorities to implement their roles and responsibilities in delivery of teacher training and professional development of teachers as well as to implement their duties in respect of the delivery of the new competence based curriculum of Kosovo.
