Multi-beneficiary Statistical Cooperation Programme
Beneficiary countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the formerYugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey
The overall objective is to prepare the statistical authorities in the beneficiaries for future EU membership by aligning their present methodologies and practices with the statistical acquis and integrating them into the European Statistical System.
This multi-beneficiary statistical cooperation programme aims at improving the availability and quality of statistical data in the beneficiaries essential for developing and implementing European policies and for the preparation of the beneficiaries for future EU membership. It will upgrade and strengthen the statistical systems in the beneficiaries, thereby improving the availability, quality, comparability and timeliness of statistical data in particular in the following main areas (names of pilot projects in brackets):
- macro-economic statistics (own resources, quarterly national accounts and regional accounts)
- price statistics (Purchasing Power Parities)
- external trade statistics (external trade statistics)
- agricultural statistics (agri-monetary statistics, statistics on crops and on animal production)
- social statistics (migration, income and living conditions, household budget surveys, and labour force statistics)
- environment statistics (statistics on water and on waste)
- business statistics (structural business statistics and business registers)
These main statistical areas were identified based on the results from previous and ongoing assistance programmes and based on assessments undertaken by Eurostat of the state of the statistical systems in the beneficiaries.

Requirements
Qualifications and skills:
– a university degree
– excellent command of English (written and spoken)
General professional experience:
– at least five years of previous experience in contract management, consultancy, negotiation and organisation
– experience of at least 3 years in management of large projects
– at least 3 years experience in management of co-operation programmes
Specific professional experience:
– a good knowledge of the beneficiaries’ situation and previous working experience in the region can be an asset
– proven record of analytical reporting and evaluating the outcome of projects
Position: Project leaders
Requirements
Qualifications and skills:
- university degree or equivalent, or proven practical experience of at least 15 years in statistics
– excellent command of English (written and spoken)
General professional experience:
- previous experience of at least 3 years in managing cooperation projects
– reporting experience for at least 3 projects
Specific professional experience:
- proven experience of at least 3 years in the field of the pilot project that s/he will manage
