Europe China Research and Advice Network
The Europe China Research and Advice Network (ECRAN) is designed to enhance further the capacity of European policymakers to monitor and assess current developments in China on the political, economic and social level and their impact on the EU and EU-China relations. It will provide for the analysis and discussion of China and EU-China relations as well as the virtualisation of China and EU-China related research, including the dissemination of results.
The project team will provide the necessary services to establish ECRAN as a network of European research institutes specialized on China and EU-China relations, especially with regard to political, economic and social developments. The required services will include carrying out studies, organisation of conferences, workshops and policy briefings, mobilization of experts, publications, establishment of databases and of a website, promotion of the network.
Position 1: Team Leader
Duration of the assignment: min 600 work days over 36 months
Requirements:
Qualifications and skills
- Post-graduate university degree (M.A., MSc or equivalent) in political or social science, economics or other subject otherwise relevant to the subject of the tender;
- Proven team management skills;
- Excellent communication skills,
- Strong computer literacy
- Excellent knowledge of English required, fluency in Mandarin (speaking, understanding, writing, reading) is an asset.
General professional experience
- Minimum of 10 years of working experience;
- At least 5 years of working experience in an area relevant to the subject of the tender.
Specific professional experience
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience as team leader, preferably in EU-funded projects;
- Excellent knowledge of project management tools such as Project Cycle Management and Logical Framework approach;
- Experience with research projects, preferably in the area of China and EU-China relations;
- Familiarity with the Chinese and European research environment and with networks of European and Chinese universities, academia, research ' institutes and other relevant organisations;
- Experience with or knowledge of the EU as well as of the broad spectrum of Commission working areas is an asset;
- Working experience in China is an asset.
Position 2: Expert in politics
Duration of the assignment: min 45 work days over 36 months

- Excellent communication skills,
