Europe–China Research and Advice Network
The overall objective of ECRAN is to further enhance the understanding and expertise in Europe on developments taking place in China, notably in the political, economic and social areas.
The purpose of the action is to strengthen the capacity of European institutions, notably the EEAS, Commission and its services involved in EU-China relations, to monitor and assess current developments in China and in EU-China relations and the impact of these changes on the EU.
Position: Key expert 1 - Team Leader
Duration of the assignment: minimum 600 work days over 36 months
Requirements
Qualifications and skills:
- Post-graduate university degree (M.A., MSc or equivalent) in political or social science, economics or other subject otherwise relevant to the subject of the tender
- Proven team management skills and experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer literacy
- Excellent knowledge of English required, fluency in Mandarin (understanding, reading) is an asset
General professional experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of working experience
- At least 5 years of working experience in an area relevant to the subject of the tender
Specific professional experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience as team leader in a related type of activity / project
- Knowledge of project management tools such as Project Cycle Management and Logical Framework approach is an asset
- Experience with research projects on China and preferably also EU-China relations, in particular on China's impact on other partners such as EU
- Familiarity with the Chinese and European research environment and with networks of European and Chinese universities, academia, research institutes and other relevant organisations
- Experience with or knowledge of the EU as well as of the broad spectrum of EEAS and Commission working areas is an asset
- Working, research or study experience in China is an asset
Position: Key expert 2 - Expert in Politics
Duration of the assignment: minimum 45 work days over 36 months

- Post-graduate university degree (M.A., MSc or equivalent) and doctoral degree in political or social science, economics or other subject otherwise relevant to the subject of the tender
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer literacy
- Excellent knowledge of English required, fluency in Mandarin (understanding, reading) is an asset

- At least 5 years of working experience in an area relevant to the subject of the tender
