Human Dynamics is working for the Government of Cote d'Ivoire providing a needs assesment aswell as trade-related technical assistance (TTA) through a Lot 10 framework contract (Support to Industry/Commerce/Services).
The Human Dynamics Team will provide services from December 2008 until August 2009.
The project overall purpose is to assess the needs of Cote d'Ivoire in the area of trade. The main tasks are:
- Mainstream trade matters in the country’s development policy and strategy (or in the Strategy paper for poverty reduction);
- Increase benefits from trade;
- Participate more effectively in the multilateral and regional trading system;
- Facilitate donor co-ordination and catalyse additional funding in the trade area and better coordination of existing funding.
The specific objectives of the project are:
- Summarise and analyse the main constraints for Cote d’Ivore to benefit from trade;
- Comprehensively articulate the needs in the area of TTA to facilitate more systematic engagement of different stakeholders;
- Outline a prioritised action plan towards removing the constraints;
- Increase awareness and understanding in the area of TTA through broad consultations throughout the assignment.
