The overall objective of this project is to strengthen the overall capacity of SAEEC in order to foster EU-Ukraine cooperation in the area of energy efficiency and in particular to meet all conditions associated with the disbursement of the three instalments of the 2009-2012 budget support on energy efficiency.
The aim of the project is to strengthen SAEEEC's capacity for the design and implementation of national policies in respect of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy sources (RES), and to assist in the implementation of the sector policy support programme funded by the EU.
The project will contribute to:
- the implementation of the measures agreed in the EU-Ukraine Association Agenda in the areas of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
- implementation of the road map agreed under the Energy MoU in the areas of energy efficiency and renewable energy.
- set up an appropriate institutional framework to sustain implementation of such measures in the long term.
The project will be implemented via 3 components:
Component 1: Strengthening the managerial and professional skills of SAEEEC mid – level and senior managers
Component 2: Support to the implementation of SAEEEC's tasks
Component 3: Support to the implementation of the EU Sector Budget Support Programme in EE and RES
