Palestinian civil police graduate from 'Identifying Training Needs' course implemented by our Palestine PCP project team

The two-phased course “Identifying Training Needs” will improve the training needs assessment and planning process in Palestinian Civil Police. Our technical assistance and expert support receive praise from the Director of PCP's Training Department.

On 27 November 2013, at the PCP HQ, Ramallah, Palestinian Civil Police personnel graduated from the course “Identifying Training Needs”, implemented by Human Dynamics as part of the EU-funded project for the project TA Programme for the Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.  This was the culmination of the second phase of this course.

Phase 1

Phase 1 of the course included a workshop on Training Needs Analysis conducted by the project Key Expert Mr Mazen Asad.This was delivered on 29 Oct 2013 at the PCP Training Department as part of Component 2 of our Palestine PCP project.

The training workshop targeted training coordinators in specialised departments and district governorates. It aimed to expand and improve their skills and knowledge in TNA methodology and tools in order to improve the training needs assessment and planning process in PCP.

At this event, Lt. Col. Abu Al Rub, Director of the Training Department, expressed his gratitude and satisfaction by the technical assistance and expert support provided on daily basis to the PCP by the Human Dynamics team.

Phase 2

The final “Identifying Training Needs” course session included a variety of topics, including job analysis tools, individual interviews and focus group discussions to collect information about the training needs related to performance. The trainees will use these topics and tools for information gathering. They will analyse this information in order for it to be used as inputs into the Training Department 2014 plan.

Prior, the Palestinian Civil Police issued a statement in which Lt. Col. Ahmad  Abu Al Rub,  Director of the Training Department, emphasised the importance of identifying the training needs in accordance with the scientific approaches to achieve an effective training and results. He made it clear that the most important objectives of the training session were to develop qualified staff from various departments and districts, and to conduct a study to analyse the training needs of the PCP.

The session was attended by 35 officers from various departments and districts. It was supervised by  Human Dynamics' Training Expert and consultant, Mazen Asad, and Training Expert, Dr Sameer Bydoon.

At the end of the session, Lt. Col. Ahmad Abu Al Rub and Ms Natalia Chertoyanova, Project Manager on part of Human Dynamics, distributed certificates to the graduated officers.
